A Day
Habilitation Center is a place where adults with intellectual or
developmental disabilities gather in order to learn social and
life skills. We teach tangible skills and habits that can
be used at home, in the community, or in the workplace.
We are located in the beautiful small community of Hutto,TX, just east of Round Rock. Our center sits on over 1 acre of property, allowing us to have a facility expanding over 4,000 square feet and an acre sized backyard. The backyard includes activities such as a walking trail, horseshoe pit, raised bed gardens, a looking pond, and a patio for enjoying lunches and relaxing with friends. Our program is based on Discipline, Structure, and a strong foundation of community involvement. We strive to break the age old barrier of "Us" and "Them" by integrating adults with Special Needs into everyday life. Our clients will quickly learn that while we are strict, we are fair and we love to have fun. We strongly enforce rules and boundaries, while allowing for each clients abilities. Currently we have started a pilot Program with the City of Hutto and Keep Hutto Beautiful program to serve as a drop off center for all the cardboard in the city. Citizens can drop off their cardboard at Beyond The Limits, our clients breakdown the cardboard and prepare it to be recycled. If we are able to show that there is a need for this in Hutto we will able for a grant in order to purchase a cardboard compacter and enable our clients to compact the cardboard themselves, with the ultimate goal of allowing them to earn money for the cardboard they recycle. |
